SOWETO RANGERS 1 VS MOMBASA EAGLES FC (MEFC) 6

After dispatching the Wild Beast from Tsavo we went to have a discussion with the Rangers from Soweto to find out if our treatment of the beasts was standard. We went overseas (Likoni) to the Soweto Rangers who arrived late to our meeting but seem to not want to come out and engage. Maybe they were checking whether we were poachers. We were coming from a win in our last outing. We were focused on getting a second consecutive win for the first time and a first away win.

First Half

The match started well with MEFC making moves first from the right through Rama and also from the left through Othieno. It was on one of the forays forward from Rama that he attempted a long-range shot. This keeper was caught flat footed and as he was landing from his despairing dive we collecting at the right-hand corner doing a celebratory jig. A good strike and what a way to open this season’s account. 1-0. The wind was so much and it was causing us some problems especially going forward. An example is, their goal-kicks were carried extra yards and got to our box, a corner almost snack in under the post as the wind made it curve inwards. رهانات المباريات Soweto through their lively striker made a hopeful shot. The wind carried the ball over the keeper’s leap. The ball and the keeper ended up in the net.1-1. They couldn’t believe their luck as they celebrated at a corner having gotten an easy goal. The Eagles dusted themselves and went about trying to recapture the lead. In their efforts the Rangers became physical. A hard and unfair tackle on Sebunya almost ended his game early but after the magic spray he managed to get back on the field. The Eagles recaptured the lead and this they did through Samuel who was making his first start after a long time. Othieno got a good curl to his cross and the ever-predatory instincts of Samuel were on show; he anticipated that the defender had taken his jump early, he positioned himself next to the post and he took a leap at the right time to head home our second goal. 2-1.

Second Half

No sooner had we settled on our seats than we were up 3. Now the wind was against our hosts. Another left sided shot by Rama had the keeper in problems. The shot wasn’t dealt with well by the Rangers custodian. Samuel didn’t need a second invitation to try and score from the rebound and score he did. The keeper spilled the ball and Samuel was like ‘thank you very much’ as he poked the ball in the net. A big smile from him as he wheeled away in celebration with his teammates in tow. 2 goals from 2 chances on target. 3-1. We were now having control of the game. One through ball which beat their offside trap saw Sebunya released straight on goal. He slotted the ball calmly past the keeper who was caught in no man’s land. 4-1. Othieno now on the right took out his marker and left him for dead. As he was about to get into the box, he got clipped. The referee waved play on. She probably was being merciful to the Rangers. Some good interchange of passes brought a freekick which allowed Max to have a crack at goal. مواقع المراهنات العالمية When he gets his shot right there’s no stopping it and that is how we got his third goal of the campaign. 5-1. Everyone was now having a go at the Soweto Ranger’s goal. Seif was next. He got the ball into acres of space and charged at goal. A fullback in the opponent’s box is rare and Seif just confirmed that by wasting a glorious chance when he had just the keeper to beat. افضل موقع مراهنات كرة القدم He got another but still he didn’t make it count. Othieno managed to skin his marker a second time and as he dribbled past him he got clipped. Down he went but the referee still waved play on. It wasn’t Othieno’s day to score. Samuel got a lose ball with one defender to beat but he fluffed his lines. He saw his chance of a hattrick fly away like the ball did when the defender booted it high and far. A freekick near the edge of the box, not very close to the goal and not far from the goal but with the wind in our favour this was convertible. Up stepped Rashid. He took a nice kick that rendered the wall useless. The ball flew to the keeper…aaaaggg we thought the ball went too close to the keeper so it will be a comfortable catch and sve for him…whooopppsss!!! the ball flew into the net. In his desperateness of gathering the ball, he scooped it into his net. Shame all over his face jubilation for Rashid and co. 6-1. The referee didn’t add another second when the minutes were out and that is how it ended.

A second consecutive win and a first away win by the Eagles. On wards and upwards as we finished the first leg of the league in good form.
